July 25, 2010: We are married!! Thank you to everyone who came. Thank you to everyone who gave a gift. Thank you to everyone who everyone wished us well. We appreciate all of you and were pleased to have you join us in our special day; if not in person, but at least in spirit. Over the next few days and weeks, please send all of your wedding pictures to marcusaxavier77@yahoo.com with the Subject of "Wedding pictures from insert your name here". We will be consolidating the pictures and posting them up on this website under the Pictures page. As for the photos taken by the professional photographer, we have been told that they will be posted at www.photosbyheather.com in a few days. You should be able to purchase prints of these photos from the website (or at least I have been told). Thank you all again for all of your support. We are very happy to finally be married and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

July 5, 2010: With three weeks until the big day, it is "crunch time". Syreeta and I are getting together all the last minute details. Yesterday, Syreeta and I met with John Hayes; the Pastor who is going to perform the ceremony. He had given us a book of ideas for our wedding vows and we were meeting to discuss those. During the meeting, he also gave us some ideas on the service that we did not think about. We went shopping for the plates, untencils, and cups for the reception. We also picked up the Guest Book and cake knife and server. We still have a few more things to pick up, but it looked like some of the stores we went to were sold out of wedding items. 'Tis the season, I guess.

June 17, 2010: We got our marriage license last week. The choice was to either go to downtown Seattle or Everett; and given the parking and traffic, we decided on Everett. The first place we went made us go through a metal detector; which I set off. After getting through, we were told that we were in the wrong building. We finally got to the right place and got the license. The last of the R.S.V.P.'s have come in. Syreeta and I went through the list last night and made the final cut of the guests. With the wedding less than 45 days away, we had to just say that anyone we have not received a R.S.V.P. from or has confirmed with us is not coming.

May 16, 2010: More of the R.S.V.P.'s have come in, so it looks that the wedding invitations may have been delivered despite the postage. We're keeping track of all of the responses so we can ensure that they all are accounted for. Yesterday, Syreeta and Shavonne went out to look at bridesmaid dresses. They found one for Shavonne and thought they had found one for Randi. Today, we got together with John and Randi. Randi and Syreeta went to get Randi's bridesmaid dress while John and I got fitted for out tuxes. During the fitting, John snapped this picture of me trying out a tux with his cell phone: ![]()

May 10, 2010: A few of the wedding invitations came back with "insufficent postage" on Saturday. However, a few were confirmed as delivered. The hope is that all of those that will be sent back for insufficient postage will be show up by the end of this week so we can resend. I'm adding in a local hotel link on the Wedding Directions page. With quite a few people coming in from out of town, it may be helpful.

May 6, 2010: Yes, it's been a while since any update. That does not mean that we have not been working on the wedding; I have just not updated this website. April was a busy month for both Syreeta and I. We have completed the intial round of the invitations with the R.S.V.P. cards. I'm planning on dropping them in the mail tonight. There are still a few people that we don't have addresses for, so those will go out as soon as we can.

March 14, 2010: Yesterday, we met with Syreeta's friend, Erika. Erika is a retired wedding cake maker and for our wedding, she is going to come out of retirement. She currently takes care of foster children and does hobbies out of her house. Her website is Hobbie-Gon-Wild. Check out the Shot Gun Shell lights.

March 9, 2010: Yes, it's been a while since the last update. I've been meaning to post, but things have been very busy. Syreeta found and purchased her dress. She took pictures, but since I am not allowed to see it, I am also not allowed to post the pictures. She took her grandma out dress shopping two weekends ago and they picked it out. Given the prices of dresses, Syreeta was just going to rent one. After all, I am renting my tux. But, she got a tip on very cheap dresses and found one that she liked. The invitations and R.S.V.P. cards arrived. We are working to get them sent out. One thing that is holding them up is the gift registry. We want to include a short note with the invitations letting people know where we are registered if they would like to give us a gift. Normally, this would be an easy thing, except that since Syreeta and I are currently trying to consolidate our stuff. The plan is still for me to move into her place, sell my place, then sell her place and get a bigger place together. I'll start putting up the registry information soon. As you may have noticed, I have mentioned that Syreeta has been doing wedding stuff the past few weekends and not working. Well, that is because she finally quit her second job. The plan was to wait until about a month before the wedding, but I finally got hired on as a full-time employee, which came with a pay increase. Not only that, but she was paying more in union dues than she was making working there. So, we both felt it was time she left. It feels good knowing that we can now make plans on the weekends. But, the dogs are the real winners. Free weekends usually equal trips to the dog park.

February 7, 2010: It's been quite the two weeks. Last weekend, we got our wedding rings finally picked out and purchased. We also confirmed our selections for our wedding party. This past week, we worked with Syreeta's aunt and uncle to reserve one of thier timeshare condos for our honeymoon. Yesterday, we picked out and ordered the wedding invitations and R.S.V.P. cards.

January 20, 2010: We finally reserved the venue for the wedding and reception, which means that we have also set the date. The wedding will be on July 24, 2010 at the Ballinger Lake Golf Club. We're letting people know now so they can plan. We will be sending out invitations later.

January 16, 2010: Syreeta and I went out looking at wedding rings today. When we got her engagement ring back in October, we also looked at a possible wedding band that would go with it. As for me, I wanted something simple; I'm not much into wearing rings. We found rings that we liked, but are going to wait until we get a set date until we buy them. As for the date of the wedding; it is not set yet. We have a place picked out, and anticipate mid-to-late July of this year. We should have the date by the end of this week (the 23rd) or earlier. Once we know, we'll let everyone else know.
